Many people still question whether smoking can cause skin cancer or not? Skin cancer cases in US reached 3.5 million annually, either due to smoking and non-smoking. To prove the relationship between skin cancer and cigarettes, a number of researchers have conducted various research to prove it.
A research has been conducted involving 698 respondents consisting of non melanoma patients and who did not have skin disorders. All participants were given a list of questions about their smoking history from whether ever smoked, how long smoking, and smoking consumption amount in a day.
Based on the results of the study in Moffitt Cancer Center, Tampa, Florida stated that a smoker has a health risk Carcinoma Squamous Sell (SCC), which is one type of health problem of non-melanoma skin cancer. The number of women SCC skin cancer is much greater than in men, especially for women who smoke every day for 20 years.
The dangers of skin cancer can spread to several parts of the body such as the face, ears, nose and ears. Actually, not only skin cancer, smoking also causes aging and wrinkles.
In addition, the reason why women have an increased risk of skin cancer than men is because women have cancer-causing compounds and low levels of the enzyme to repair DNA than men.
Smoking and cancer can't be separated. Smoking habits affect risk of skin cancer, due to the higher intensity of the smoke and the longer she smokes then the risk of skin cancer was also higher.
